Micky was an actor, pianist and music director long before he learned about wine. But then he went to Carmel and Monterey and realized that Pinot Grigio is pretty amazing. (Also, he’ll push someone to the ground if they’re standing between him and a stellar Chenin Blanc.) Anyway, since then, he’s been looking for a way to combine the art with the alcohol. And so After Party was born.
In case you’re wondering, sometimes Micky works without drinking too. He’s the resident music director at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights and has also worked with Eclectic, Halcyon, Piven, Victory Gardens, About Face, American Theatre Company and Apple Tree, among others. And way back in 2007, he won an After Dark Award for his music direction of Brown Couch Theatre Company’s production of Happy End. So there’s that. These days, you can also check him out performing with some local bands or as the harpist at the front of that wedding you attended at the Blackstone that one time.
Micky also likes gin. And Marlborough sauv blancs. And whiskey. And vodka. And margaritas. And free drinks. Just FYI, in case you’re going to the bar.
Join Micky every Sunday night at Davenport’s for Sunday Niht Social Lounge from 8pm-11pm with Vasily Deris, Megan Elk, Sophie Grimm and some surprise special guests!
